Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Surgical Technician to join our surgical team. This role is vital to supporting ophthalmic surgeons during procedures and ensuring that patients receive safe, efficient, and high-quality care. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a busy surgical setting and demonstrates precision, organization, and compassion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments for ophthalmic procedures.
- Assist the surgeon intraoperatively, including handling instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control standards.
- Anticipate surgeon needs to ensure efficiency and patient safety during procedures.
- Clean, sterilize, and organize instruments and equipment postoperatively.
- Assist nursing staff with preoperative and postoperative patient care as needed.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain workflow in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous surgical technician experience preferred; ophthalmology experience strongly preferred.
- Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST or equivalent) preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to anticipate surgeon needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a busy ambulatory surgery environment.

$21.00 - $30.00 per hour
